Sorry guys but i had to come back. I wasted 2 DVDs trying to burn the games. When i put the game in my PS2 it works fine up until where it says PLAYSTATION 2 then the name of the game shows up. The screen moves up and down very fast and you can barely see anything. Any ideas what this could be?

One more thing guys if I have a modchip can I play PAL games or just NTSC. I bought my modchip and got it installed from another country for about $20 and I remember that the games were only like a $1 so I bought 10 good ones and 9 of them work.

Depends on if your chip forces the games to boot up in PAL. I heard there was a switch device for your PS2 so you can change the video mode! Great for my PSX/PS2 games which are NTSC.

Sorry if this question had been answered before and i really do appreciate what you guys are doing to help and teach noobs like me to burn these files...but recently i just finished downloading Dragon Quest VIII on ps2 and there were no rar files, mds, or iso! nothing to extract and just gave me a folder with alot of files. Did i download it wrong?

plz help me out as i dont have much knowledge in these kinda things..but anyways...once i finished dl'ing the torrent i just got a folder with files like "e-drqst8.001" all the way to ".060" and then a ".svf" file and then a MSinfo Document file. Thats all =(

Your answer is in the past post on this thread.
They are RAR files. You need to download WinRAR and choose the first RAR file.
Example:
e-drqst8.001
e-drqst8.002
e-drqst8.003
e-drqst8.004
e-drqst8.005
You would double click on the e-drqst8.001 file since its the first file and then WinRAR will come up and let you extract the file out. What it is doing is extracting all the RAR files together and making 1 big file. (ISO, MDS, etc etc) There is no need to choose the other files cause WinRAR is extracting the other zipped files automaticly.
Just for your knowledge. some RAR files will start with a name like this e-drqst8.000 in that case 000 would come before 001 so you would choose e-drqst8.000 to extract the file.
But in your case you would choose e-drqst8.001
After it extracts out what ever image file it gives you, you can burn that file.

OH MY GOD!!! sorry =( i had no idea it was that! reason being coz i do have WinRAR on my computer but when i double click the file it says i dont have the right program to open it so i thought it was coz i download it wrong or something...yes i am a total noob and i admit! sorry but i really do thank you for still answering me! thnx =) (excuse my grammar)

did you get WinRAR to extract it?
If not right click on the .001 file and goto open with and choose WinRAR. Maybe it just isnt associated with WinRAR for some reason.

You can also use DVD Decrypter. I downloaded Star Ocean 3 and had the same issue. Load the mds file into DVD Decrypter.

Hi there im 24/f/aus very new to this (sry), just have a few questions ,
one . do i need a mod chip to use my swap magic disk ?
two .. i downloaded a ps2 torrent and i used DVD Decrypter
three ... I put my swap disk in then i load then i swap the disk to my burned copy and it says that its not a ps2 game ..AAArrrrr
four .... how do i get around this ????
plz can you guys/gals help it would be wonderful

Use good media. No you don't need a modchip to boot Swap Magic. It should boot when you insert it in your PS2.

When i downloaded the torrent it has came up as a NRG IMAGE do i need to do anything to this to burn it to a disk ?

Don't panic I'm always available to help some lovely young Aussies lol. That's a Nero image file. All that means is whoever uploaded the image created it with Nero. How big is the nrg file and what game are you trying to burn?

Burn it at 4x on an 8x DVD-R with DVD Decrypter. Burn at half of whatever the max speed of your DVD is. If you have a 4x DVD, burn at 1x or 2x. You'll get it working. I live in FL, USA.

hey dudes thank you both very much ...BUT... i have done everything you's have said and it still wont work :( , i have burn it with Nero i have decrypted i cant get it to work , im feeling really studip here as it dont sound that hard , i have followed step by step but nothing ..... there is only the one file 3.30gb
once again thank you all if only i had yous in front of my computer it would be soooo much easier hehehehehe
