I just downlaoded Dragon Quest 8 for my son a few days ago and it was a bin file and it was over 3 gig in size. I used DVD Decrypter to burn it. The only other way id get the bin extension if BIN files cant be that large is if whoever uploaded the torrent change the extension from .iso to .bin. Because it was a BIN file that WinRAR extracted from the torrent.

That's a WinRAR file, used to compress the iso to a smaller file so it can be downloaded faster.
You will need to download WinRAR - www.WinRAR.com
Install it.
And extract the game, then after it has finished extracting you will get a folder with an iso inside :)

Burn a UDF/ISO DVD with Nero. It's the last option under DVD in Nero Burning ROM. Drag all the game files into Nero and burn. You'll need to overwrite the dummy file if you're using Swap Magic. Make sure no multi session is checked and write is checked. Burn at 2x. It should work fine.
49. Q. I'm rebuilding game X, I'm concerned it has dummy files. How do I identify the dummy files?
A. From Hursty: When you see the iso has dummy files.i.e 00DUMMY. 01DUMMY. GARBAGE ETC, you need to get rid of them, by replacing them with a file. So on the desktop, right click the mouse, select "new" > text document and rename it as it appears in isobuster, then click enter. Then open the text document on the desktop, hit space once, then save, this will create a text document with 1 byte in it, Do this for all the dummy files you have, as some games have more than one.

@hursty
I tried finding it but havent yet. I think I got the game off my newsgroup not a torrent site. I use both frequntly and its hard to keep track on where I download what from where :-) But if I find it ill let you know.
Update: hehe I see what happened :-) I found where I downloaded it at and made a mistake. There is a trailer added to the file and that was on a bin file and the game was ISO. I just remember seeing the bin file but that is for the other file(video I guess) not the game.
Anyway Merry Xmas to you as well and I know all about the cold wetaher it snowed a foot here last night. grrrrrrr Im ready for summer again. hehe

i had one of these,recently
i had a lot of files which appeared to be rar archives, but when opened with WinRAR,all i got was the game folders, just as listed above (not the same game though)
they were made not with WinRAR,but with an app called HJ split
you may want to try that, its free and the link is below
just install it,and select the first file, then click REJOIN
it may just work

to avoid the confusion in the future, open up WinRAR,go to settings and untick the box which associates iso's with winrar

Not really. PS2 games are huge files ranging from 2-4 GB's, even when compressed. MDF and MDS files are just image files created with Alcohol 120%. You can burn them with Alcohol or DVD Decrypter. Almost any PS2 game you download will be compressed into a rar file. You need to decompress them with a program called Winrar. Click on the link of the word Winrar to download it and install it.

can some one help me ihave downloaded a few games and they all work except need for speed most wanted which when extracted shows files-
nfsmwp-dgr.001 up to nfsmwp-dgr..066
nfsmwp-dgr msinfo document
the whole files are 3.03 gig unpacked
usually when extracting they all unpack into an iso file but this game only extracts one by one

Extract the first numbered file with WinRAR, nfsmwp-dgr.001. That will produce the iso.

Key to decompress: In order to see it, it must be identified in the Web.

You only have to extract the one file, the first numbered file. Search the web for the correct password. Rar file passwords are easy to find. You can check and see if it's here:
81. Q. I downloaded a game and the rar file is password protected, where can I find the password?
A. http://www.youceff.com/pwd/pwdlist.php

Is there an SFV file that you can check and make sure the whole torrent file is there. If there is run it and it will check to make sure the torrent downloaded all parts.

hursty beat me to it hehe
Also see if there is a file in the torrent named nfsmwp-dgr with no number's after it. If so try to extract that file out and see if it will extract the rest togther.
