Go To Control Panel-->Network and Internet Connections-->Internet Connections, right click the connection you use to get online and click properties. Go Wireless Networks and click view available wireless networks. That should tell you what type of router you have. You need to forward the appropriate UDP/TCP ports for Azureus. Azureus is Java-based, so you'll need to open both the TCP and UDP Ports for javew.exe. The default listening port for Azureus is 6881. Once you know what type of router you have, check here: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

@ JOSh765
if you can afford it,give newsgroups a try
they are about $12-20 per month to subscribe...depending on which one you chose
your download speed will max out constantly, depending on what connection you have
and you dont have to seed

Hi everyone and sorry for asking Basic stuff as Im New to this game.
Ive D/L Tony Hawks American Wasteland PAL and through this site figured out its a WinRAR file (47 parts D/L). extracted the 47 files which include a couple of other files, SNF and one other.
After extracting the file it in a folder in WinRAR PAL-tony.iso
Ive read on here if I open Nero Burning ROM (UDF/ISO) I can drag & drop the folders into the left column at "New Disc".
The problem ,well one of them ,is the WinRAR folder will not open in the right column in Nero but opens another window and at the top file name has (evaluation copy)next to it!.
1) Is this the correct stage I should be at at this point?
The list of files/folders are as below and as I Drag/drop them a message comes on screen after a short time to say "Server Busy" and that it cannot complete as the programme is not responding,it asks me to choose "Switch too" and correct. When I try this it just reappears after a couple of seconds although the files seem to transfer.
I get the following files/folders and where they appear after Drag/Drop.
New Disc Name/Size
IOP folder IOP folder
Movies folder Movies folder
Music folder Music folder
Streams folder Streams folder
Teasers folder Teasers folder
DATAP.HED file
DATAP.WAD file
DATAPD.HDP file
DATAPF.HDP file
SLES_535.35
A last file "system.CNF" ive drag/drop before and left out on other occasions but it still doesnt work when burnt.
The file size is 3250MB.
2) What am I doing wrong or right at this point?
Im using RITEK DVD discs that work fine copy to copy and burning at 4x.
Ive tried it 5 x so far but Im obviously Missing something crutial in the process.
The more I read the bigger head ache I get!!!!!
They appear! to burn OK but when I put it in my Chipped PS2 it just shows
"THIS DISC CANNOT BE PLAYED"
Please help a Noobie!!!!!!

Sorry but the reply has moved around abit so it should read
The DATAP.HED file, DATAP.WAD file, DATAPD.HDP file , DATAPF.HDP file and SLES_535.35 are ALL under the Name/Size column and DO NOT appear in the NEW DISC column.
Thanks.

Ok I just downloaded the FIFA Soccer 06 for the ps2 from http://www.i'manidiot.com it ran like it download and everything, but after it finished I went to open up the file and the view of the thumbnail was the internet explore symbol. Ok and when I doubled clicked on the supposidly ISO Image it didn't open or anything. Can someone please help me here? (Do you think that I should just have the original copy of the game and then burn it, rather than trying to download it from the net.)

'Tis against forum rules to direct link to torrents..

-Mike

PS. I would use the original.
Or download it if you don't know how to re-build.

@ Lazyfish you extracted the iso file. That's one step to far. You simply extract the first numbered rar file and it'll produce an iso. Just extract the first numbered rar file and burn the iso to DVD with DVD Decrypter.

1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.

2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/240341
If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.
CMC Magnetics is garbage. Need proof (Thanks to Alkohol):

56. Q. I downloaded a PS2 game and I have files like Game001.rar, Game002.rar, Game003.rar, where's the iso?

Amazingly enough there are loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads
of threads relating to copying PS2 games and downloading them.

^^ There's a search bar. I can guarantee you, that if you search for "Copying PS2 games" or something like that, you will the answer you need.

I don't know but, these are supposidly some good sites to download from
www.livetorrents.com
www.mininova.org
www.mybittorrent.com
www.torrentreactor.to
www.torrentspy.com
www.torrentz.com
However I suggest that you have the original copy of the game 1st and then use all the other necessary tools need to get you a copybecause downloading is really not the best way to do things and it's the cheap way out of it. Be something else if you were downlaoding music or something, but think about it your trying to download a game. (But it's you thang, do what you wanna do, I can't tell you who to sock it to; AAOOHHHHHHH) lol HAPPY NEW YEARS yall!!

They should have come with the package I think. But what type of modchip did you get. Me personally I think there is nothing to compare with the Swap Magic and Fliptop combo.

Yeah, no messing about with Swap Magic, remove the front bit of the tray, then you're done, easier IMO.

Well Swap Magic is cheaper, and it's a good product, but if you have a good modchip you'll never go back. No rebuilding, downsampling DVD-9 to DVD-5 or patching PAL to NTSC. That's my two cents anyway.

Yeah, but a much bigger chance of your chip breaking your PS2.

@Mik3h Not really, at least not with newer chips. True older chips had a bad habbit of blowing a fuse on the mobo or frying your laser, but newer chips like the Matrix Infinity and DMS 4 are very well designed and overheating the motherboard or laser is largely a thing of the past. The only recent exception would be if you have a v.12 PS2, then you'd need a laser fix. Newer modchips automatically shut down if the laser is near overheating. Ah the miracles of modern technology.

But if I just spent about $70 to $100 dollars for getting the modchip and then paying someone from $30 to $60 dollars to install it in my system or just spending about 2 or 3 long hours doing it myself, then of course I wouldn't want to go back to anything else. Especially if it works right. But whe using the Swap Magic and Fliptop combo. I'm able to do just the same thing but for a lot less. Also if my Swap Magic disc gets scratched up I can just pay $20 from $40 dollars to get another one. But lets say that your ps2 gets hot or something else happens to it, more than likely your $80 dollar modchip well also be messed up. I mean for me, from backing up a game to playing it on my system it only takes about 8 or 10 minutes. Most of the time is spent on burning the game but it's the same for everyone else maybe a little longer depending on what kind of computer you have. But my piont you can not convince me that the modchip is nothing but a ripoff when setting it right beside the SwapMagic and Fliptop combo on a shelf ready to be sold.

Well that's your point of view. I'm not trying to disuade you at all from using Swap Magic. If it works for you, great stick with it. Swap Magic is indeed a good product. In fact I recommended it to my friend who didn't have the money to get his PS2 modded, and it worked out great for him. There really isn't much chance of frying your PS2 with a quality modchip. If you have a good chip, you won't go back to disc swapping. Ask anyone who has a DMS 4 or Matrix Infinity if they would rather be using Swap Magic. It does cost a little more in the short term, but the long term benefits are well worth the extra cost, in my opinion. The main thing that will wear down your PS2 is using cheap media. If you use quality Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media, the dyes won't put too much extra stress on the PS2 laser.
