Hey guys,

I have just bought Nero and have heaps of mp3's I would like to burn to CD to listen to in my car. Car CD player does not play mp3's is it possible for nero to do this?

If I click on the music option on Nero I get 3 options. The top one says 'make mp3 disc' the next one says 'make WMA disc' and the bottom one says make 'Nero digital audio disc' What is the name of the normal format that car and home CD players like if they DON'T play mp3's?

Thanks for any help

Hi klang: Could you be a little more clear on where you see these options? Are you opening the Nero Start Smart or just the Nero Burning ROM? Either way you should have an option to make an Audio CD. You don't want to make a MP3 CD or a WMA CD. The Nero Digital Audio Disc, I believe is just another compression format so I don't think you want to use that option either. Nero will take your MP3 files & convert them & burn them to CD all in 1 step with no worries.

yeah, all you need to do is to choose 'audio cd' compilation in Nero and drag the mp3's into the list and it will convert them to normal cd format for you, it will create a normal audio cd (ie 'wav' format)

- sufficient total memory if you're only gonna stick to CD's, however you're very low on free memory. make sure to close more programs before any burns. If you decide to do DVD work you're gonna have to get more memory, another 256MB

Regarding the first point. How do I get the latest version?

Second point. I will get the latest firmware from that site.

Third point. I will blow out the memory another 256.

Fourth and fifth. How can you tell the type of media from the fourth quote? Is it the Mitsui Chemicals, Inc? What media do you suggest?

Sixth point. I will slow it down.

go here for update for Nero - http://www.nero.com/en/nero-up.php - i guess you just want the one with Burning Rom. (just don't download the horrid and foul InCD program (update package 3)).

as to cd media i don't know too much about the different brands/types/makes yada yada yada as there's so much of it about. i just quoted it for completeness. if all troubleshooting like this runs out of things to tweak/fix then the next thing would be to try different media, and last we would start to suspect the drive as a (possible) problem...

Ok, I have now got that package three and have the latest version of Nero.

Regarding the firmware upgraged I have been to that page and get this:

Fri Oct 29, 2004 3:34 am LG/HLDS GSA-4163B
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B - A101, A102, A103, A104, A105 / (NEC OEM) AN16
Beta region free (RPC-1) firmware is available here. Patched by The Dangerous Brothers.
RPC-2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I click on A105 though it links to a page that says this:

Save_as function is not temporarily supported.
Please just click & open the file. Then, save the file in your PDF reader.
Save_as function will be supported once again ASAP.

Is there something else on this page I haven't noticed to get A105?

Ha ha! I don't feel like such a newbie now. I beat you to that. I googled it and got it as you said. Before you even said it. I'll see how a burn goes now.
