Could be secondary to one or both of the following:
(1) Media incompatibility.Check the manual or the manufacturer website of your discman and see if it plays CR-RWs. It may play CDs but not CD-RWs. Are any of the 'old burnt CDs', CD-RW?.
(2)when you navigate through the wizard ensure that you choose the correct options. Depending on the version you have it may be defaulted to a multisession selection during the wizard. Ensure that you don't select the Multisession option as this may be the reason for your problem. You need to ensure that disc is closed with no access to add further audio. Best of luck. Let me know how it goes.

Make sure your making audio cd's and not mp3 cd's or wma cd's.

I have the same problem that Oldskool have. I also read the replies. I do use CD-Rs and I select audio. I have used Windows Media, Nero and Click 'N Burn CD & DVD. They all do the same thing. Burn my CDs as Data. I think. What else can I do? Thanks in advance.

Ya'll know more about these computers than I do.

If your music CD only plays on your computer and NO other CD Player then lets try this

Rip all the tracks you want to put on a CD using Windows Media Player. Rip them as MP3 files. (to select how they are ripped in Media Player secect TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and then RIP and then you should be able to select MP3)

Just for the fun of it lets look at a ripped track. Right Click a track that has beed ripped and click on properties. Under file type it should say MP3 format and under size you should have a size of atleast a couple of MB.

Now open Nero, click on Music, then on Audio CD (not MP3 or WMA), Drag and Drop each track on the burn list one at a time. Once you've filled up the CD burn it. (slow down your burn speed try 32X )

Does it work?

Bummer

Put the CD you just made in your computer. From My Computer right click the drive that the CD is in and click on open.

Pick any music file, right click on it and then click properties,
Under Type of File does it say CD Audio Track?

I did and this is the info I got .

Type of file: MP3 audio file (mp3)
Opens With: Windows Media Player
Size: 4.82MB (5,056,724bytes)
Size on disk: 4.82MB (5,056,724bytes)

Hopefully this info is enough to see what is wrong.

well, compatibility is the real issue here. As the others stated, try different file formats. The universal format for CD's I believe is .wav, so I would definitely try that to see if it works before ven trying the others. Then make sure you are saving as audio, compared to data or HighMat. If you cannot figure it out on Nero, give a simple one like Windows Media Player a try and save as audio--which is always in .wav files.

Then you can try the mp3 and wma formats.

Trinity1, according to the file type you are making an MP3 CD not an audio CD that most players will play

Under file type it should say "CD Audio Track"

For some reason you are making MP3 CD,s

In Nero are you sure you are selecting "AUDIO CD" and not MP3 when you make a CD?
