I've got a question about firmware. If a Sony DW-Q28A is a OEM Sony DRU-800, which is it self a Lite-on 1693, why are there three different familys of firmware. Maybe I'm just missing the point, but other than making it show up in your computer as a certain make and model shouldn't they all be about the same. Don't flame me if this is obvious and I just missed it.

 The firmware is the same .. except for the CPU recognizing it and the drive itself (the PROM from what I've been told is slightly different)
