While messing around learning how to transfer files from my dish prv to dvd I learned about dvdpatcher. It is not an encoding program but it will trick your authoring program into accepting mpg files that are not the right resolution or bitrate. The mpg's have to be close to dvd standard for your dvd player to accept them but 500 by 480 seems to work. Im only mentioning this because a lot of people are reencoding files that will play on a stand alone dvd player just to make there authoring program accept them. Im surprised I havent see this program mentioned in this forum before.

Hi there,

It might not be so popular !

There's so many software out there, several doing the almost same job.

People find one they like, find one that provides them the wanted end results, and they stick with it :)

Guess what company makes me happy ? hehehe !

Go to the dishrip yahoo web site to find the download. Cougar, none of those programs leave the file with the original aspect ratio. Im just saying why go through the process of encoding or enlarging when you can just use this program and burn file strait to disk. Also workes with vob's. Enlarging doesn't accomplish any better results and stand alone dvd players play a wide variety of aspect ratios even if they are not designed to do so.
