I bought my Ilo recorder back in August. Most of the time when you prepare the disc for recording, all is well. But a few times when I put the disc in and prepared it for recording, the indicator would get to 99% and stay there. Then you can't get it to stop and have to wind up unplugging it and then plugging it back in. I talked to Maxell and they said its bad discs and to send them back and they will send me some new ones. But it seems to me that not all them discs are bad. Anybody ever had this trouble? I think it was a DVDR05. It was $98 at Wal-Mart.

There are some long threads here about the ILO recorders and this seems to be a common problem for this particular recorder. It's probably not caused by the discs, but by the machine it's self.

 To put it mildly,the quality control on these machines is suspect ... WalMart is used to getting these machines returned and is very cooperative about the return process .. In some cases, people have returned several machines before they get a machine that is satisfactory .. If I was you, I'd return it and try to get a DVDR04 instead of another DVDR05 .. You may have to look around to find one but it's a better machine ...

 No matter what, you should return the unit
