i got a brand new black and white 2 game which i was going to play. so i installed it and den started it, then this error came saying it needed pixel shaders 1.1. I tried to emulate the pixeles with 3d anylize but it doesnt open the game. Is there another program i can use to skip or emulate the pixel shaders for Black & White 2.

I have the same problem, I had no idea such a thing as pixel shaders existed before I got this game. I also tried using 3d anylize but got no luck there either. I hope some clever dude finds this post and gives us a workaround to make it work. :)

have you tried asking the black and white website ?
i7 3770 12GB ram terrabyte sata drive 1 750Gb sata drive 285GTX graphics Sony dvdwriter same NZXT Nemesis case
Still playing Black Hawk Down why did I upgrade?

when you try 3d anylize what happens. When I press run on my 3d anylize, nothing opens.

I've been on the Black & White 2 forums, and what everyone says there is that it's impossible to play the game with a card that doesn't dupport pixel shaders 1.1.
When I try running the game by itself, it tells me I need pixel shaders 1.1 to run the game, and then comes up with a program error (I translated this into english):
The instruction in "0x00000010" refered to address "0x00000010". Memory could not be "read".
When I try running it with 3D Analyzer, I directly get the following message, no matter what settings I choose:
The instruction in "0x00933a43" refered to address "0x00000004". Memory could not be "read".
Hope this makes sence to someone, but I'm starting to loose hope that I'll be able to run this game on my comp.

Sounds to me like another DX9 only game, you will most likely need a newer graphics card that supports ps 1.1
I can't say for sure though I have not played the game yet.
We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent...

You have to upgrade your graphics card. Its a costly exercise if you have a laptop like me. If anyone knows how to remedy this post it please!!!!!!!!!!

Ok guys, i managed to run B&W 2 by 3d Analyze. Yep. Nearly managed to. Here's what i did:
Open 3d analyze, and now check the following:
-Pixel and vertex shader:
force max pixel shader 1.1
force low precision pixel shader
force high precision pixel shader
-Performance
force zbuffer
-Hardware limits
Well, i just checked everything :)
-Remove stuttering
Quality mode
And then clicked run. Beautiful. Watched the lionhead/ati intros, and then i got to the main menu. (cool music playing there, by the way).
Clicked new game. Loading screen appeared. After around 15-30 seconds it crashed to the desktop. Same story when i changed B&W2 quality settings. Everything off, resolution 640*480. Crash.
Try the 3d analyze settings i told you and say if the game works for you. I wonder if its problem for everyone or if there's something with my game copy/pc.

Didn't work for me either. Can't get a hold of anyone at Lionhead or EA Games by phone or email (emails just keep bouncing back). Anybody got any other contacts, post them here. If anybody has the right setting for B&W2 pass it on.

I tried running b&w2 with the same 3d analyze settings and I got the exact same error as before when trying to load the game. Sakiewvka, what graphics card do you have? I have a NIVIDA Geforce4 440Go for laptop.

im runnying intel extreme graphics, but wut i dont get is that any other game works with 3d anylize but the only game that doesnt work with it is b&w2. Maybe theres a problem with the .exe

Hi Everyone! Still no luck playing the game? Take it back to the retailer, my retailer has been very nice and issued a full refund. If only Lionhead & EA Games were as nice. Everyone phone lionhead and complain TEL:+44 (0) 1483 401000 . They say they are unable to help, if everyone phones they should start to wake up. Thier email system is bouncing back emails at this time. Good Luck

Well, I got the same problem here, with my notebook, cuz it uses geforce go 2.
Need your help please.
By the PC of my girlfriend it won't show the details but work from the beginning.
So need help please.

i hav the same problem as u ppl, maybe directx 10 (when it comes out) wil allow us to play it, good luck to all of you! and maybe if some of u hav some connections like with an extremely smart comp person, they could figure it out.
