I need a sugestion, I have a lot of files at work and there is like 16GB worth of them and i need to get them home, what I was wondering was, is there a way to host my files from my pc at work so i only know the url to the file and download it at home?.

I know there is a way but what freeware software would be the best thanks.

Ive never used it but they have a Freeware version....

Have you not got a DVDRW at work? Or if you have a USB external Hard Drive you could tranfer the 16Gb of data that way, it would be much quicker....

I kind of had the same question and will check out your suggestion. I am in TN and friend is in San Fran. She would like access to my media files (mp3 mainly). Files are too large to email obviously so I thought FTP would be the best way. Am I barking up the wrong tree and does anyone have any better ideals?

Yeah this will be the best way to share your files with your friend....

You download the "Server" software (^ in my last post) and your friend downloads a "Client" software like these http://www.filepedia.com/network_software/ftp_software/
