When i boot my pc it boots fast up untile the windows xp welcome screen it stays there for about 20-30 seconds then my desktop shows up. anyway to make this boot faster, mabey the order sequence of the checking of hard drive, cd rom etc

Check the BIOS and see if there is a quick boot option. If you enable it, just realize a boot error could occur and you may miss it. Just a thought.

thats the thing it is on quick boot my motherboard has quick boot its enabled but it boots windows then the welcome screen comes up for like 20 sec then the desktop shows. yea i got windows xp pro. i have an 80 gig sata hard drive with like 50 gigs free space. i have a c and e drive to. mabey that helps

Check to see what you have loaded up. You can do that via msconfig. It could be stalling while it is loading up your start-up programs.

Haven't got a clue what counter spy is, but I know Norton takes a long time to load. It is normal.

yea its porbley normal because i got counterspy loading up which is like adware anti spy program pretty good one to. and norton so i guess its ok thanks for the help bro
