Hi, theres this DVD-R that I had a friend in Hong Kong burn for me it worked for me while I was in Hong Kong. I bought the DVD-R to another friend of mines in HK and it worked perfectly. But after I came back to Canada with the DVD-R it couldnt be read on my DVD-rom or my DVD-writer (LG GSA-4163B). I thought about that it could be like regional or sth like that but then the DVD-writer was purchased on my trip in HK as well.

any suggestions would help. thanks in advance

check out your firmware....... you might have to do an update:

by doing a firmware update might make your drive accept that disk!

...also try this - download dvd identifier (free) - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id... and use it to 'identify' the disc, pasting the results here

Possibly this disk is in PAL format and not NTSC which is the format here?
