I am looking to buy a new computer and recently came across a dual AMD 64 x2 tower at a local store (i dont want to build another-less headaches, just gonna upgrade the new one). I told myself the next computer i was gonna get was going to be an AMD 64, so then i thought what could be better than getting 2 cpus in one computer??

So heres my question, Im gonna be using this new computer for graphics and video editing (Adobe CS) but also gaming (HL2, etc). I know premiere supports dual processors and i think after effects does too, but im not sure on the others (PS & games in particular). So what happens (how does the computer run) if if dual cpus arent supported? does 1 just shut down, and not get used? does a little get used off each? will it run worse than a single cpu'd computer? the guy at the store led me to believe that it would run like crap, but wasnt sure himself...

thanks for all the help in advance...

He's wrong! It will run sweet everyday, especially if you like to multi-task. Do you really need it if going to dual core processors and want to do video editing? Just depends on how much speed you like to begin with. Before you purchase anything do some searches on Google, etc. specific to exact software that you plan on using first just to make sure. Here is a link below to start you off.
