ANYONE WITH INFO ON SONY RDR-VX511 DVD/VHS RECORDER?

Just bought this unit. I have two weeks to try it out in order to return it. So far, I've tried to play some DVD's I've burned and the success is mixed. Using the same disc, (recorded on TDK TTG02), it froze twice. Played all the way through with no problems the third time. A lot of the DVD's I've made seem to do the same thing. I've tried them on three other players and they too sometimes play them fine and others not.
