dvd+rw-d28 problem

I have got a dvd+rw-d28 writter. The problem is I can't seem to burn +R media now. Its was working ok until a few days ago. I can burn +RW ok though. I don't get any errors in nero and the discs complets 100%. I'm unable to view the dvd in the computer or on a home player. I have read about some firmware issues with this writer, so I forced a dvdrw228 1.51 firmware onto it with the same results. I have tried TDK FWS verbatim media.
Any ideas ?
