I recently replaced a nvidia geforce4 mx420 card with a nvidia geforce fx5500. It is working fine except it will not recognize the digital connection as such, shows it as an analog connection. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 191T monitor that has two outputs, one is analog only, the other is digital only. My goal is to use the monitor on two machines, using analog on one and digital on the other. I installed the new card on the computer that I want to use the digital connection. I have both connectors on the card trying to set it up. It shows two displays, but calls them both analog. When I disconnect the analog connection, there is no display on the monitor. I have a VPR Matrix FT6100, Pentinum 4, 845E chipset. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong and how to fix it? Any help will be appreciated.
