CRC errors are caused by an unreadable disc. It may need cleaning, or the disc you have, even if new, may be faulty. It has nothing to do with AnyDvd.

Thanks for you reply Pulsar. I guessed it was'nt a big problem. It only happens now and again.
Tell me please. Is it possible to encode/shrink a dvd using DVD Shrink, without copying the dvd to my hard drive first?

@easty
No shrink does not have a 'burn on the fly' option. This method is also not recommended due to increased problems/errors it can cause. Plus shrink does not burn - it will use Nero, Decrypter and (I think) CopyToDVD to auto burn after the movie has been ripped and compressed.

Thanks Binkie

Well I think I understood that.
I am a bit of a novice at this sort of thing.

While running AnyDVD. I have been ripping the video_ts file to my hard drive. then using shrink to encode and shrink down. Then Nero burns the disc. Is that the best way to do things?

Yep that's the best and easiest way.
Running AnyDVD helps Shrink do it's thing even with the latest copy protections which it can no longer handle.
Here's a great link for a 'novice'- lots of useful info, things you may encounter, guides, etc- and hey we all started out as novices!

Pulsar was right on the $ with the crc error. If running AnyDVD (which handles the latest encryptions) crc errors are due to a problem with the disc whether you can see it or not.
The link I gave (under oops) has guides to use different software, software section and faq's. Check out the FAQ's.
Here's a guide to try for had to rip discs - you'll need to download DVD Decrypter. Decrypter is a great ripper that will sometimes handle these discs. Give it a shot. But you may need to exchange it for a new one.

I copy on the fly when I want to copy my backups. I use Alcohol120%. I have also burnt 3 at a time on the fly. It is important to use good media & have the same burners with up to date firmware. Keep the burn speed to 4x & you should be OK.
I'm a great believer in "jumping in with both feet", nothing ventured, nothing gained & all that!
