Computer restarts by itself

I have had a problem were my computer restarts on it's own. I just reinstalled Windows and everything is good with the computer. But it did it again just 5 minutes ago. So it's not anything on My computer.
I upgraded My processor from P4 2.66 to a 3.06 HT. My motherboard supports it. It can't be a Heat problem Cause the computer says
CPU 35 - 37c. and Internal Temp is 32C. this is normal.
What could be the problem?

could it be ur video card is over heathing so its shuting down ur computer so it wouldnt do any damage to ur mother board or any other hardwares, try getting a software that can tell you the temperature of ur video card, or if u need more ram to support all the programs that ur using/running

kinda sounds like a powersupply promblem, it wouldnt be becuase of your processor the 2.66 and 3.0 arnt going to take a different amount of power. but it could just be that you PS has had its day and is slowing dieing on you.
When a power supply sends a flicker of power to the motherboard, she takes that as a sign to restart.
its worth a shot
see if you can borrow a power supply from a friend to see what happens.

I had an issue like this a long time ago with one of my pc's. Come to find out, it was the electrical outlet, it was going bad. I moved around the furniture in my room where the pc was and I had not used anything of major importance in the outlet that I then plugged my pc into. I was getting power surges that caused my pc to shut down and since I had it on restart on shutdown, it would auto restart. I noticed this when I seen a lamp I had plugged in to the outlet also was going dim and going bright at the same time my computer was restarting. I had it plugged into a surg protector but what I didn't know at that time was that if you have a spike in power it can pop the fuse in the protector so it is worthless after that. My ex who is an electrician came over and tested the outlet and found that ya, it was going bad..easy to fix though. This issue also caused my fax machine to go haywire too, lighting up every button, fax, copy and scan all at the same time and it would not do anything could not even get it to shut down by pushing in power button normally, had to hold it for like 10 seconds to get it to shut down.

I got one for you. My computer seems to have a similar issue to these. However, my computer comes on and as soon as it gets to the blue welcome screen, it shuts down! It's as simple as that and it goes on and on and on. Any suggestions? Could it be a virus or some technical problem?

go into bios and c what the hardware monitor is reporting as sounds like a heat issue, if all is ok have u updated ur video driver recently?

Sadly, the computer will not even make it to the desktop. It shows the welcome screen and then it restarts. It does that over and over and over. If the computer ever reboots, I'll try your suggestion.

Yeah mines been doing sorta the same thing...When i go to burn a CD or DVD with Pinnacle and i click Music CD or Anything Itll restart me computer. When i try burning with iTunes it cancels the burn and never finishes. Also while im just surfing the web, it'll just restart.

I eventually just did the restore option ansd reinstalled Windows. Then I upgraded my video car. I also went to the system properties and unchecked the "restart after system failure" box. And, to top it off, I finally bought a new power supply last night.
