I have to admit, I've been getting complacent since I started using high quality disks (Verbatims) with AnyDvd and Shrink (and also slowing down my burns to 4x). Have not had a bad burn in months, (till now). I burned Batman Begins onto a Verbatim dvd+r dl. I forgot to change the burn speed, so it burned at 4x. When I watched the movie, I was shocked to see some breakup about 2/3's of the way through the movie. I was able to skip ahead a chapter and continued to watch the movie with a few tiny flickers. Great flick! But thats another story. I reburned the movie at 2.4x and DvdInfo shows no crc read errors on the reburn. Do you guys think it was the relatively fast burn speed that caused the errors? I'm going to check for pi/pif errors with DvdInfo, too.

I did not have any trouble using a Verbatim DVD+RDL to make a perfect back-up of Batman Begins, I too burned it at 4x.
Used AnyDVD> Nero Express> copy DVD. Book Typed to DVD-ROM. Did you book type to DVD-ROM? That may be why you had the issue. I WILL agree, Slower IS better. Somtimes that helps, but in My case, 4x burned Perfect.

keeping the burn speed @2.4x on GOOD quality DVD+R DL media, such as the Verbatim you are using, will ENSURE a better backup~ :) i think the speed of which you burned it DID affect the playback, keep it @ 2.4x in the future and you should be fine~ good luck~
