I am sure that you have probalbly discussed this to no end but here is my dilemma. I have converted some movies that I had on VHS and now want to put them on CD-r to play on my home dvd player. I have seen posts and software, freeware on how to do it. I just can't figure it out. The software that I have is Winmpg video convert, dvd squeeze, tmpgeenc, avi2vcd, virtualdum-1, vobsub, nero55107b, smart ripper, flask, easy divx, dvd decryptor, and dvdx. Question is how do I get an AVI file to dvd readable onto a CD-r that will play in my dvd player (not a dvd-rom or dvd-rw, just a standard run of the mill home dvd system) hooked up to the t.v.

Teach me please

more than likely all you'll need is TMPEG. select your source video and audio (usually the same), then choose your output directory. at bottom right click on "load", select VideoCD (NTSC).mcf (for US VCD), click on open, then click next on setting, i usually choose next to motion precision search...high quality [slow], then at the top...Advanced, video arrange method...choose to keep same aspect ratio, click OK...then click Start. do not do anything else while it processes....nothing! lotsa info at www.vcdhelp.com and www.doom9.net. good luck! hi there..

hmm.. to do what you want to do you, you'll need to create a VCD of an mpg movie file.
when you captured the video and audio from VHS, did you get an avi file or mpg file?

if you got an mpg file, you want to run it through tmpgenc to make sure it is VCD compliant. then after you create a new mpg file, just open up nero burn and go through the wizard: choose Other Type > Video CD.

then drag and drop over you mpg files and it will make a vcd thats playable on any dvd player (standalone).
