I currently have Shareaza installed but unfortunately the last time I used it I contracted a virus (trojan vundo). Since that happened I am reluctant to use it again (actually all P2Ps now frighten me). It took me days to get rid of the virus and not being completely computer literate it proved to be quite a task. Anyway I have since found out that Shareaza runs contantly - something that I don't particularly want to happen. Can I stop these programs from running all the time? I have decided that I will probably delete Shareaza and try something else. I've heard that eDonkey is a good one. Can anyone give me some advice please.

Do you mean that it is constantly connected to the internet? If so, go to your firewall and block access to the internet after you are done downloading.

I'm not constantly connected to the internet - i'm on dial up - but apparently when I connect so does Shareaza!
