Need Help Finding DVD-VHS-DVD Recorder

I am looking for a DVD-VHS standalone recorder that hooks up to my TV that plays and records DVD's in both PAL and NTFS formats and also has a firewire jacks so I can record my homemovies from my camcorder on DVD in any format I choose. I don't want something overly expensive with a built-in hardrive.

I heard that JVC makes such a thing, but I also heard that it is illegal for stores to sell them because of copyright laws.
