im having a small problem with my laptop,
the problem is that my battery is now dead , the ac adaptor doesnt charge or even power it up ,it works fine with a charged battery(tried with my friends battery)the laptop is a compaq presario 1200(12xl505), just trying to find out if it is a part that i can replace or is it actualy the board, the ac connector on the board is not loose or anything like that,(opened it and didnt see any problems) please help maybe they make a charger that plugs into the wall like a dock or something , need help,suggestions or comments, thanks in advance

the laptop doesnt work with the ac adaptor either, or is the battery needed to power up with the ac adaptor, thanks for responding so quik,

no it should work through ac adaptor.now it sounds like the ac adaptor is bad which is the cheaper of the two

my battery went on my hp.it still worked when i plugged in wall.so it definitly sounds like the ac plug went.when you plug it in the wall does the ac adaptor get hot?can u hear it working?like a little buzz when you put your ear up to it?

ive even tried a universal 19v adaptor at radio shack and still nothing, i guess im going to try buying this combo i saw on the net (battery and acadaptor) for 100.00, hopefully that will fix the issue, if not im out a hun and the laptop is out the window.

the battery has a thing on the side that tells if its charged or not dosent it?charge battery out of notebook and see if it charges.if it does,maybe its the processor.notebooks get rel hot and sometimes the cpu fails

I BELIEVE THE PROCESSOR IS FINE IT WORKS WELL WITH ANOTHER BATTERY, HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO CHARGE IT OUT OF THE PC , THE ONLY THING I HAVE IS THE AC POWER CONNECTOR,

thats cool bro.if someone told me my cpu was beat id probably freak myself...lol...you just said you have another battery does the battery take a charge when you plug in the ac adaptor,it should say charging,if it does your batt is bad theres no doubt in my mine.dont sweat the caps i was playing man...lol

no i checked with a freinds battery , he lives about 5hundred miles away, ill just buy the combo and see what gives ,peace.
