I dont understand why everyone and their brother says ya need a aspi layer...when nero has its own working aspi layer built in. Its a one small dll file you can actually download off of nero and use for other proggys. I actually use eac with nero aspi layer with no problems.
I have actually tried installing the aspi layer, but it didnt seem to make a difference whether or not it was installed on how nero burned. Hell....clone dvd and divxtodvd have burn engines and they dont require a aspi layer to burn. The only proggy I have found after playing with burning in 6 months is k probe which needs a external aspi, but the results seemed inacurrate compared to nero cd/dvd tool. kprobe was saying my litey drive had a burst rate of 6 mbs, but cd/dvd said I had a burst rate of 38 mbs....hmmm....sounds like kprobe is a crock of bleep...lol.
Anyway...back to this mans trouble. The dma seems to be on. Other than the supposed aspi that dont seem to do squat....he seems in good shape. The biggest suggestion is get a better burner. Different manufacters have different write strategys and can write different results to media. Sometimes better or worse. But I think ya could do better than ya have. So I would say try another burner. And also get more ram in there. I use a gig of pc2700 till I can afford dual channel , but a gig seems to be enough to burn. So try a ide benq or plextor drive which has a sata 2 connection and then add at least another 512 stick of ram. If ya mobo supports buy pc3200. Its pretty much the fastest ddr memory ya can buy unless ya mobo supports ddr2 which I doubt. :>
Good luck and happy burning!
