I am going to be building my own computer pretty soon.. and am a little unsure as to what to look for in a motherboard.. i know i am going to use a Athlon 64x2 3800+ chip.. so i know its gotta be a 939 mobo but as far as features on it, i am lost.. other than the usual # pci slots/ agp vs pci express/ on board audio/ etc.. is there anything else i should make sure i have?? im not looking to do anything special with this computer.. im not an overclocker or anything like that.. im a part time gamer (and i do mean part time) but mostly gonna be graphic/video editing.. i just want a decent mobo that isnt gonna break me.. i was looking at these.. any good??

I'd go with a gigabyte. Never heard of ASRock before, and I know gigabyte is one of the top mobo manufactureres along with MSI and ASUS, so if you want a good board that will last go with the gigabyte.

well in that case both mobos should be about equal quality wise

I would also go with either Gigabyte or MSI. Both very stable & reliable. With AMD, I lean toward MSI. Personal preference due to experience with both boards. Here is a link to an Excellent MSI Board for your application.

the speed or proformance.not alot of bottlenecking.the manu and really people perfer one over another.there are some out there that really sux, very slow,no updates on motherboard.what they do is make a board and then you never hear from them again.you want to buy a motherboard thats fast, reliable and has support for the board down the road.like updated bioses, updated drivers[sound, usb, lan, etc.]thats why asus, msi, evga, dfi, abit these companies been around for a while.i picked asrock cause its part of asus or like a sister company and i saw they are updating stuff plus i have a agp video card and i want to buy pci-e later and this board supports that.the only board in the world that does, there is no other.asrock 939-sata 2
