I/O Error!!

Ok well first i had 2 drives showing up on my device manager, 1 was a scsi drive wich didnt exist, and even with my dvd drive disconnected it kept showing up when i scanned for hardware devices.. I got rid of this with a deletion in my registry..

Now i have only 1 drive, the right one, wich is good.. Matshita DVD-RAM SW-9585... thing is it doesnt read anything, and when i click on it in explorer i get "The request could not be preformed because of an I/O device error"... Well i truly dont know what to do, but in explorer when i right click on E: and press eject the device does eject and everything..

All help is appreciated.. Thanks alot..
