IS it possible to convert a single .mpg video file into the multiple files needed to burn onto a dvdR.

I have the following software.

Nero 6
Clone DVD
Dvd Decrypter.

You mean splitting it up? If so, try use Power Video Converter or X Video Converter.

I'm assuming you mean how one movie on a dvd is comprised of several files yet are all part of a single video file, usually this is because of backrounds/music, menus and such. Convert your video to .VOB (I use Xilisofts video converter) that way everything is in dvd format already then use an authoring program such as dvdlab to put to disk (you can even add menus and stuff with this program).
Another route you can go is instead of converting it to .VOB convert it to .AVI then use vso DivXtoDVD. An very easy to use and works very well, just make sure you get the 0.5 version. Its the freeware version that will not put a banner on the top of your video.

You can just convert the file to dvd format (use winavi video converter), and then burn it (without re-authoring it). It is very easy.
BTW, you can find the winavi from http://www.winavi.com

Basically, you just want to burn this mpeg so you can play on a DVD player, right? And by creating multiple files, you're talking about the DVD structure with VOBs, BUPs, and IFOs files. Use Nerovision Express and just follow the wizard step by step.

Simply yes, but make sure the file is mpeg2 otherwise if its mpeg1 or 4 you will need to re encode them to mpeg2 before you burn them with nero
