But limewire is lyk the best free online one tht I've heard frm all my cuzins. First of all, the program woodn't open because smthin was blokin it. I fixed tht alredi, it was blokd by the java. But now, limewire is not connecting to the internet. I hav no idea why. I hav researched a lot on google wit this com nerd stuff. So i made sure the gnutella thingy was checked with the internet connection firewall. It was. It actually had two gnutella on the list ther n checked. But still I dunno y is not connecting to the internet.... PLEASE HELP GREATLT APPRECIATED...

Have you made an exception or allowed full access for Limewire in your firewall(s)?

I have a belkin router and have had no problems with it, just to be sure check your firewall and make sure its allowing the program to run. Also limewire basic has alot more problems to me than the Pro version of it so you might want to try getting that version and see if it changes anything. If you search on limewire for limewire im sure you can find the better version .....

Can someone please tell me why I loose my connection to the internet everytime I open a p2p program or Azureus? I don't get it. The message says that the problem might be a firewall or that I don't have an active connection. I've checked these things and everything seems to be ok.

agent what kind of internet connection do you have? ive got cable so on average the download speed for a song is around 150 - 200 k on limewire. the speed is also determined by how many people have the available song of file. itll usually let you download from up to ten at a time if available

The first time I downloaded LimeWire it worked pretty well, except some files would not play in the player. Then I kept getting lots of spyware. My computer started working very slow and windows media player wasn't working properly. I uninstalled LimeWire to see if my computer function and speed improved. I had problems for awhile so wasn't sure what was causing problems. So anyhow I managed to smooth things out somehow and decided to try it again, given that others have been giving good reports about it.The second time I had more problems. The player did not play any files, the program seemed not as good as the first time for speed.thought I'd uninstall and try it again. LimeWire installed on my computer but would not start up. I got rid of it again, decided to try
FrostWire, and the same thing happened. It installs but does not open.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

get rid of the firewall
that's one thing you don't don't want to do. firewall's are a necessity.

Actually the spyware telus service deleted and put in the list Limewire, bearshare, kaaza, backdoor, all kinds of stuff. so am I wrong? is that not supposed to happen? My computer has been working ok since the p2p's have been taken out,no spyware reported. Also I now have frostwire downloaded but will not start. I hit ctrl alt delete to try typing it in and getting it started that way,but Windows didn't recognize that I have frostwire. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what to think because everyone says Limewire has no spyware but my antispyware deleted lots. the list was full of spyware called limewire, and many others. So I thought maybe I set it wrong because if limewire doesn't have spyware, why does limewire come up to be deleted from my antispyware program?? Also my computer worked better with it uninstalled. It took me a few tries but I have frostwire working now. I think when I close it it shuts off even though it is supposed to go to system tray. Other than that so far so good.

in frostwire go to tools>options>system tray .select- minimize to system tray. also make sure show system tray icon is checked. let me know if this works .. it is best to have it go to tray THEN IT WILL STILL DOWNLOAD .also try downloading spybot search and destroy it never removes any of frostwires components . i think your program is removing a part of the program.

yes I already had it set to go to system tray. It wasn't working. AND THEN--for some reason I had 2 frostwire programs going. One had all my old downloads on it, the other had none.So while I was checking on them the one with downloads all of a sudden came up saying it could not list my old downloads. So now I had 2 programs with nothing. Uninstalled it, reinstalled it. fingers crossed.
