i agree with the above and Teammodders would be my
top choice.
also
http://www.xmodd.com does a fine job, but are a little more expensive i think. And take much longer. It took me 3 weeks to get mine from there.

Matrix sucks. Get a DMS 4 Pro. Nah I'm joking, they're both good. Definitely the two best modchips out there. They're feature packed and direct boot everything. http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 Hell they've even started on making them compatible with the just released v.14 slim.

i agree, DMS4 and Matrix Infinity are the top 2
i would settle for nothing less then those 2
sure you can find cheaper chips then those 2, but there is
a reason for that. With chips you really do get what you pay for.
those 2 also both have free downloadable upgrades, and the
teams that make them do a really good job. So when they want to add
new features they just release a "flash" for the chip which you
download for free and burn to a CD, then play in the PS2
I have the DMS4 Pro in my slim and it works great.

The solderless chip is $30 more than it's solder bretheren. I paid $35 installation for my DMS 4 Pro. What's $5 more for someone you know will do a quality job. Teamodders.com did mine. If you buy a premod, be sure to purchase from one of the vendors listed in this thread. There are matrix clones called "modbos" which are all too common for people who buy from disreputable vendors. You won't go wrong with a Matrix or DMS 4, they are both excellent.

http://teammodders.com/premodded.php you can even get a premodded V7, which unless you are stuck
on the slims small size would probably be a better,
more stable system. Plus about $30 cheaper
and as stated a few times already Teammoders does a fantastic job
just look in the forums at the feedback section at the bottom
and you will see that they get rave reviews on everything they do.
i got a premodded xbox and got a new laser & DMS4 Pro in my V5
there. they are great guys who's reputation will grow by
leaps and bounds in the coming years as more people discover their
site and unmatched service.

I was going to get a premodded system from them but as it apears they are quite busy with their orders and are not taking new ones.
The PS2 slim im assuming is a brand new one.
But are the older v7 that you can get modded are those new or used consoles sine i dont think you can get those anymore??
Thanks
george

Well you could go with a slim. The only problem is the v.12 slim's have el cheapo laser, and you'd probably need a laser fix. If you go with a premodded v.13 or 14, you should be fine. If your not sure which version your looking for, check here:
23. Q. What version is my PS2?

teammodders is back to doing systems, but i would get an order in asap as the holiday season is coming up and they will be very busy with systems and their regular lives.
They have V13 slims premodded.

I'll throw in my 2 cents.
I bought my modification equipment (and a lot of my backup games) from
They also sell pre-modded systems like you like.

I believe it supports games from other regions, but I'm not sure about a Y fix. If your TV doesn't support dual video formats, games from other regions may be rolling and in black and white.
