Hi everyone hdadvance 3 had been released. At least thats what i found so far searching through the web. http://www.consoleasia.com is now selling hdadvance 3 NTSC versions. I emaailed them asking aout whether its the PAL or NTSC version. and they said its the NTSC version and PAL version they sell. Heres soem new features:

# New features of HDAdvance 3.0:
# Support DVD-9 disc. You can convert DVD-9 games from computer to PS2 HDD
# DVD-9/DVD/CD backup/import games can be converted directly without Slide Tool or Flip Top cover.
# You can convert DVD/CD games directly from the DVD-ROM of your PC to PS2 HDD
# Better compatibility
# 5.Less stress on PS2 laser lens

Seems like the only new thing they have added in is DVD-9 comaptiblityand more games work with it... I hope theirs more features. Id suggest you buy the new versino only if you havent bought a hda yet or if you really play lots of DVD-9 games, other then that id say stick with your old one :)

I just got ym hd 3 today. And yes the hda 3 is compatible with the same hard drive. You do not need to reformat the hdd again. So all my previous games were instantly available. Im pretty satisfied with it.

Are You able to put play DVDs via HD advance?

IE: Rip DVD with DVD Decrypter into ISO.
Upload DVD ISO onto HDD with WinHiip?

Just curious.

Dude you'll have to search hard. Really everyone is using swap magic these days. All you need to is invest about $60 for a dvd burner, $30 for Swap Magic 3.6 plus, and some dvds for like $10. Using this newly updated Swap Magic 3.6 plus every game works 100% on and offline play. You just need to invest $100 and some research time on how to burn the games with free software.

In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

See, I have to disagree. 3 weeks ago I knew nothing about backing up Ps2 games, but was fed up with crappy PS2 problems and buying games whose discs only work for 2 weeks. I came to this forum and learned A LOT. I went the Swap Magic3.6/Fliptop route, and regret it big time. The swap magic discs are the cheapest quality discs I've ever seen. They have layers of something peeling off of them, they have something hard stuck to the data side, they make the ps2 sound like it's trying to kill itself, even though all other discs play normally(yes my backups work fine, thanks to all the good advice on this forum).
I bought a hard drive now, and that will be the new way. The PS2 is an unreliable enough piece of crap. Swap Magic is just as bad. It's hell on your laser and your ears, and you'll waste so much time returning them to the store over and over and over again.

is it possible to use HD advance 3 with ARMAX?
if so, do we need to create a ISO image of ARMAX and place it in the HDD to load up first before the backup?
