I need to copy a DVD that contains DATA. In Explorer under properties the size is shown as 6.5G. If I try to copy the disk it says there is not enough space. TIA

Could be a file system problem. You may need to be running Windows 2000, NT4or higher, or XP. If XP you'd still have to be running NTFS file system, not FAT32, which has file size limitations.

A single layer DVD-R will only hold around 4.37gb so you would have to split the data to 2 DVD-R to copy all 6.5gb.

You did say data? I assumed you were then copying it to your hd. If so, file system problem. If going to DVD, 4.37gig limit as LuNaTiC wrote.

Thank you for your suggestion SpeciesX
but I (of course) agree with loaded and DextrsLab. We are talking about DATA not a MOVIE that can be re-encoded to shrink size. However not knowing what kind of DATA we are talking about, it may be able to be zipped or otherwise compressed enough to fit on one DVD-R data disc.
