I Have a question about these files I know they are used to download albums movie etc. But how do they work for example I know that when you use something like a p2p that the files are download from other users with the file that you want do torrent files work much the same way also people have be caught using p2p services which I know is illegal I just wanted to know also is it possible to get caught downloading torrent files.

To break it down, people upload/host files like on your run-of-the-mill p2p. You upload your information to a torrent site and then people can search and download from you - it works both ways.

It is much better than p2p. I used to use limewire devoutly, but the amount of files available is phenominal! You can get caught just as easily, but the chance is less than 0.000001% so the choice is yours

Use the quickstarter @ the bottom of my sig to get started.

So people can upload from me but I assume they can only download the files that I have downloaded i.e. torrent files but what if I move them about will people still be able to download from it and if I have a firewall will they still be able to download the files

I suspect you are a leech, which isn't good for the network, but, *sigh* I am here to help.

If you create a torrent and host it, you are uploading. You HAVE to upload whilst you are downloading, but with peerguardian, you should be fine. Once you have finished downloading, you can stop people uploading by simply removing it. Take it from me (someone who has dlded thousands of files) - You have virtually no chance of getting caught with peerguardian - PLEASE DON'T LEECH!
