I'm unable to find any software that will work on the new R. Kelly dvd "Trapped in the Closet- Chapters 1 - 12". I've tried dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, Clonedvd2 w/anydvd and nothing seems to work. I keep getting the same read errors. Is there any way to defeat this copy protection scheme? This is the first dvd that I've ever encountered any difficulty copying a dvd.

I will appreciate any help and/or ideas.

Thanks!!!!!

Hi Eliblue,

Have you found a solution to your problem as yet? I, too, am having the same problem with that dvd. I haven't a clue what to do. None of my conputer dvd drives are reading the dvd. However, It plays perfect in my standalone players.

@ gwen.. hows things down under? good i hope.@ eliblue... i havent tried this one yet, but most of the time it is in the original disc. ive had many that played fine but couldnt be ripped. if u have tried the latest version of AnyDVD and dvdfabdecrypter and still cant get it, i would get a new original and try it. if that doesnt work contact slysoft.com with the problem.

What kind of answer is this. How have you helped Eliblue solve his problem, you havent.A junior member should no the right way to post and if he hasnt got anything relevant to say THEN DONT or are you trying to get your post count up

@ Eliblue : it is not un common for dvd manufacturers to put a damaged VOB file within the dvd structure so that you can only watch it and unable to copy it.You might try isobuster to see if it can pinpoint where the damaged file is,recover it and then once you get it to your hard drive, burn it back to another disc.
As you already have AnyDVD.Try putting the disc in the drive, click explore the disc and do a copy and paste of all folders from the disc to your hard drive. If that succeeds then use shrink to delete what you dont need and also then burn it to disc.Try both methods and see if you can get a result

Hi guys,

I spoke to a friend concerning the issue I was having with the dvd. He suggested that I disable the autorun function on my burner. I did that and was able to burn the dvd using dvdshrink and dvddecrypter.

To disable autorun, go to start>my computer>select drive>right click> select properties> click on autoplay tab, select dvd movie and select take no action.

Go through the burning process as normal.

Sorry that it took me so long to reply to the answers that I received in this thread but I have not had access to my computer for a week. Thanks for all the assistance and I just wanted to inform everyone that I have now successfully copied this dvd using DVD X-Copy(I guess that it's still useful for some things) of the dvd cloning apps that I have at my disposal.

I'm interested in trying the disable autorun suggestion also.

Thanks!!!!!!

Movies27,

Did you have to do anything special to copy it? Are there any special setting you have on your computer that helped this?
