i have a samsung 915 with a 8ms response time and love it. i think the one you are looking at is similar. i say if the price is good, then go for it. i would watch the sales on newegg, lcd monitors tend to go on and off sale quite often, so don't buy it right away, it will always go on sale at some point.

19" LCD Pixel Pitch: 0.294mmH x 0.294mmV

17" LCD Pixel Pitch: 0.264

Less is best for clarity.

I would go down to a 17" or up to a 20.1 if you also want more clarity from your screen.

20" LCDs tend to have longer response times so beware.
They do, however have the best resolution to size ratio of large LCDs.

Most of the 20.1's have a 16ms response time which is still considered excellent even for gaming.

"Most of the 20.1's have a 16ms response time which is still considered excellent even for gaming"

Is it?
I don't consider 16ms excellent for gaming, i consider it good, and below it fair.
I've heard even 16ms monitors can ghost...

Thanks for YOUR opinion. Of course the lower the better, but 16ms is plenty fast enough. Also ghosting occurs above 16ms, that is why 16ms and below is considered to be a good gaming monitor.

Unless you have your frequency signal above 60Hz. If it's only 60 then yes, generally with 16ms you'll be safe, but above 60 (for instance my CRT is at 85Hz) then ghosting will come into play, since the screen changes every 12ms, and the LCD only every 16.

If your gonna go 20.1" then check out Dells range of monitors, http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productlisting.aspx?c=us&cat=s...
the 2005fpw is a very good monitor quite a few people i know use these and none can say a bad word against it ... don't know how the prices compare to similar product's in th U.S but here in the U.K it's a absolute bargain :)

Check out this link above from GamePC.com and their review of a 20.1 LCD from Viewsonic. Below is just an excerpt from this article:
Quote:
As for Viewsonic's claim of a 16ms pixel refresh rate on this monstrous screen, well, we would have to say that they are dead on accurate. We've seen a lot of large LCD screens claiming to be gaming ready, but the VP201B is the first large-screen LCD which looks as good, if not better, than 15" and 17" LCD screens in terms of gaming performance. The screen has no blurriness, no visual slowdowns, no ghosting, it just looks pristine. Considering all the crummy LCD's I've come across at my time here at GamePC, the VP201B floored me with its flawless pixel refresh rate. This is finally an LCD monitor which we can whole-heartedly recommend to gamers who want a large-screen LCD, but don't want to give up image quality in order to do so.

i dont know anything that you guys are talking about but i have an LG Flatron L1510S 15" and its pretty damn fast and the image quality can only be described as magnificent can you post your opinions on this, i thing anything bigger than a 15" is a loss of quality... unless the right display setting is used...

No, as long as you buy a good monitor, 17" monitors can give you far better image quality than 15"s, and even 19s can give very good image quyality if you're willing to pay for it.

If I had a big TFT monitor, I'd have that one, and I want one badly, but at the same time as having to buy another base unit i'm going to be strapped for cash as it is. 1600x1200 at 16ms and true 20" screen size. Beautiful.
