i finally built my new computer.. but when i tried to boot it up...it did nothing.. the power
starts but nothing else happens. monitor stays black, but the power and hdd lights on the
tower light but, but STAY light..no real work is processing it looks like. im pretty sure
everything is put together correctly. the only questionable wire i had were two wires from
the case (single jumper type plugs - like the hdd led ones), but they were only labeled with
a + and a - each. i wasnt sure where to put those, so i put them on the pled jumper.. since
thats the area where the rest went..and just so i know for certain, on those jumper wires,
the side with the little triangle is for pin 1 right?
ok, heres my setup..
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A
CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L200P0 200GB IDE Ultra ATA133 Hard Drive
ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD Motherboard
Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W
POWERCOLOR R43CA-GD3D Radeon X800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
SONY Black IDE DVD-ROM
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05 Case
the only other aspect i was 100% sure on was the power supply it self.. it was ALOT
different than im used to.. it had extra cords for SATA and PCIE, which are all still
unplugged since i figure im not using them.. do they NEED to be plugged in? anyway..
please any help would be great.. id had to think i just spent $1000 on a giant paper
weight.. thanks ahead of time again..
ps.. i did just notice that i dont have anything plugged into the 12v port on the mobo.. but
i dont think there was anything that would fit on there from the PS.. my main power cord
was a 24 pin, with a 4 pin breakaway.. my board uses a 20pin so that 4 pin was taken off..
do i use that?? i think i tried that, but it didnt fit right.. should i try it again? thanks again
