As a few people on the AD Forums already know, On October 1st 2005, my PC was subjected to an evil power surge from a Qtec Power supply. The immediately failed components were removed and the PSU replaced.
However, on the odd occasion I am getting beeps from the BIOS and the system fails to POST, promptng a reset (or two).
I have looked on several websites about the beeps I am getting (long continuous) but for my BIOS (American Megatrends) there doesnt seem to be a situation that matches this.

Can anyone else suggest what the problem is?
My finger is currently pointing at RAM, but it could easily end up pointing at Mobo and CPU too.

it is possible tho not certain. have to do process of elemination to see what component(s) is going bad. check the can shaped objects on the motherboard that are capacitors that they are flat topped not domed. try flashing the bios to see if corrects the problem.

I think I may possibly leave this until I have a backup PC. Being an A-level (dont know what the US equivalent of that is, I'm in year 13, the last year before university) electronics candidate (and hence laughing at being told what a capacitor looks like - I know you didn't know but that was still funny) - I sort of need a computer, so I'll wait until I order my second PC before I start faffing with this one any more.
