I would Like to hook up a External HD to my router. Links are fine I will do the homework Just cant find any solid Info On it. Is anyone doing this.

You may ask why well I use a wireless laptop in my home and would like to store data on a remote drive. And use it with out haveing to plug in my external drive. In a perfect world I would like to just have the drive be in my computer as if it were hooked up with the USB cable.

What you're talking about is NAS (network attached storage). Here's an article and a review on one of these. The PCWorld article has pricing info.

There are lots more products in the NAS world.

Tank you for your time.

I have found a soulition Netgear offers a router and USB storage port built right into the router.

You are able to plug in a external USB HD. Or any USB thunb drive for shareing across the network. Wanted to use the stuff I had But will be shelling out 100$ for the router Also offers VPN so I can connect anyware and 108Mbits of data transfer.

Here is what I found http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WGT634U.php

Anyone Knows of a better product Please Let me Know.

Thanks Highl0w
