i just built this pc and my time will, all of a sudden, change to the year 2165.

is that just the battery?

im trying not to get upset yet[lol]

Is this what happens?
You set the time/date so it's correct and switch off the computer.
Then a bit later you switch it on again and the time/date is wrong?

If thats the case it's def the battery.

Or you could have it pointed to an incorrect time server. If you go to the control panel, Time And Date, and select the Internet Time tab usually the time server is set to time.windows.com. If you have it pointed to a different NTP server it could have the wrong time.

I have seen computers set to 2548 in Asia before, but that is for countries like Thailand that use the Buddhist calendar instead of the Gregorian one like we do. It is 543 years ahead of ours.

this is the wierd thing.i could be on the internet like this,typing,switch pages.all of a sudden,i cant log in,tells me theres and error in my cookies.the times right,and the region,the only thing that changes is the year.it sets itself to 2165.

this dosent happen when i restart,its while im going to log in to different sites it will change.this is the crazy thing,it wont happen everytime.happened about 4-5 times today and a couple times yesterday.

this cant be a mobo problem can it?

it could be a little virus that is messing with ur computers year data base, or maybe its a website that you go onto which is setting ur computer to that year without you knowing, or you might of downloaded a program that might have caused this to happen hope this helps a little bit

1st i thought it was the battery,but it dosent happen all the time.i thought that i got a virus too.i hope i can get rid of it somehow.thanks ,am going to try adaware

i use Ad-Aware SE personal, CCleaner, and avast! antivirus. Those are great they are all updated and their all for free, i recommend u try them and see if that still happens

thanks,used adaware,system mechanic[already had],and i have avast.it hasnt done that all day tosay,sunday,thanks.thats a wierd virus huh?i thought my pc was broken,i was about to cry[lol]thanks alot
