Set the cas to 3.0 , drop the ddr to 166, select cpu,pcie,aysnc. in the overclocking mode, then try increasing the FSB & see what happens ..... and to think i have all this to come, don't think i'll buy a san diego core though locked multiplier not for me ... :)

i can go from 4 to 11
also this cpu nblink is the htt mutiplier it goes from 1x to 5x.the numbers are 200 400 600 800 100

yeah, try dropping the multi to 8 & raising the fsb and losen the ram timings to cas 3 :)

For the Hiper PSU, it 'staying on' when you turn the system off, i.e. the lights go out but the fan stays running is merely a n after-shutdown cool-off function. It won't do any harm.

i raise the cpu up to 274 set the ddr to 166 changed the htt muti to 2x or four hundred, then it wouldnt start[lol]then i crawled uder the desktop and reset the bios.this sucks[lol]i knew i sould have gotten that abit board,no more crawling,just hit the reset on guru panel[lol]but then i would have had to buy pci-e card ,fffk that,aint that rich[lol]

Oh well, 2.7Ghz ain't bad rugripper from 2.2Ghz ... try raising the fsb little by little untill it's not stable then go back to the previous fsb that was stable .... other than that it's v.core mod time, then you should be able to go higher :)

funny,vcore mod time.sucks not that had though.so you cant set it and forget it[lol]ok,back to basics-setting mem to 166,changing cas to 3,starting at 225.htt at 800 which is 4x,here we go,hopefully not crawling under this deskstop for a while[lol].
thanks sam,exactly what that does,was worring that something was wrong.your right just the light in the ps stays on everything else is off,including the ps fans...thank you all,here we go...blast off[lol]

Hey don't be to dissapointed in your o.c i've just read a review in Custom pc on that board and they couldn't get above a 250fsb, i know other people have hit the 300fsb mark but they might have been using a different 64 core i.e winchester, venice etc,etc and ram, 2.7Ghz ain't to be sniffed at, just experiment with different settings till you get it right ..... The bios plays a big part in it, just tried a new modded bios in my rig & it was supposed to be real good but i couldn't get past a 193fsb with out bsod so i put the newest abit bios in & it's 198fsb stable

thats crazy,unbelieveable,i remember i couldnt get past 174 before with my 2800+ barton.that pc must not even boot.press the button...poof...desktop...lol...i found out my keyboard device driver was bad causing a lot of prob.going to try again.couldnt get past that 240 x 11 mark.3225 1T,4 x htt,giving me 2.65 says im pushing a 4200+.should this post in system prop as a 4200+ or will it still say 3700+?

so far so good.running prime95 while i surf no errors been about an hour:
11 x 240 timings 2225 1T
1 gb ddr 400 166 instead of 200
change cpu to nb link speed to 800[4x htt]and 16
change the sb to nb kink to 800[4xhtt]16
had to turn off flexability [should i turn it back on]
this gives me a 2.65 which is the same as a 4200+
going to try higher thanks man, finally no weep weep weep[lol]
update:cant go any higher then this,what can i do to go higher?mod it huh?

update:
left prime95 running last night,something must have happened because the pc restarted itself and reset all the number[this sucks]
this mobo ,come to find out, has a boot guard on it,so it resets itself,if the numbers are too high.didnt know that till later last night.was crawling under desktop with flashlight for a while[lol]
i have it at 2.4,10 x 240,timings 166 2225 1T,and nb link at 800[4x htt]it runs good at that no prob,but it seems like this pc has a mind of its own cause after awhile the 11 x 240 comes back and then it crashes on prime95.i can see its at 10x on everest home and when it crashes on prime95 i look in everest and the numbers changed in multi is now 11x240,etc gives me the 2.65mhz reading and wont run right.how come?bios is bad,wont hold the numbers right huh?

its fine again 10 x 240,166 2225 1T,NB SPEED 800[4X].SAT2 DRIVE
benchmarks memory test everest:mem read:4649...mem write:1696...mem latency:52....there 3800+ scoring 67.8 and a x2 4200 scoring between me and the 3800.
who has the best score?which is better?higher or lower,dont really know.thanks for your help so far.things are looking good.did all mem tests with prime95 running in backround.btw:its running while i write and surf,no errors for about an hour so far,but im at a 20 persent oc still with a 4000+ oc.help me go higher without crapping out.[lol]

just did a stress test for one hour for heat and such.ran 60 mins no errors till i stopped it.the heat rose to 42c@2200rpms.kicked this bitch in overdrive:35c@5000rpms after being at 42c.it took 5 mins to kool.[took the dog out when i came back temps were lowered...lol...this star ice heat sink fan works sweet on this 3700+ san diego.hope im not boring anybody[lol]peace.... thanks again
cant get memtest 86 to pass number 6 in test.passes only in stock speeds.how come?
update:i put everything back to stock,runs better and faster gaming with the ocwbeta3 bios.this mobo just dosent want to stay stable.should have got the abit fatal1ty,lot more money,and had to buy a video.so i`ll make due till they come out with a better bios or i feel like modding this mobo[lol]alot of work to mod....thanks peace
