Basically Ripped a Reg1 DVD into DivX, and the sound is out of sync almost from the start, is this common with this software? Before I start to try and sort it, is there a simple way around it. The quality of the sound and Pic is fine for what I require, just this damn sync problem.

If this is common then is their better software that does the same job ie Stick a DVD in and away you go, I don't want this to
start getting all technical.

Cheers.

Step by step!! Sounds complex. All I want to do is Rip an average length DVD 90-100Mins, compress it to DivX and have it small enough to fit on a 700Mb CD, with the sound in Sync.
I have a rip of Resident Evil that is superb quality and is that size, so it is possible. So in your opinion (Or anyone elses) which Ripper will yield the best results.

I don't know what I am doing.

EasyDivX= junk. Use the 2 most popular programs to make DVD2DivX backups:

if you encounter audio sync problems then uninstall DivX 5.02 and go with DivX 3x.

If that doesnt work don't worry, idon't really know what i'm doing either. It took me 3 months to learn how to compress movies (no kidding, i really dont know much i just practiced, A LOT) But if you want to learn step by step just ask i can walk you through it.

buxton,
Download Vidomi (link provided) and install DivX 5.02 (for now) and print out the guide (link provided). Encoding time depends on the speed of your processor.
