DVD Drive reads CDs but dose not write them. DVDs will not read or write. As soon as DVD is inserted Computer hangs and I/O Device Error message appears. The DVD Drive is listed as MATSHITA DVD-ROM, When right-clicked on it, in properties, I see 'Device type: DVD/CD-ROM Drive' and that it is working properly. I have uninstalled and then reinstated with no luck. The Laptop is a Packard Bell 2.8GHz. I also use 3 external devices, all with there own power supply with no problems (A lite on dvd-rom, a samaung duel-layer burner and a 200GB maxtor H/D) It's about 3 years old now so maybe the drives worn out but before i replace i thought someone else may have some advice. Cheers
