help my bt dl speed is horribly slow

hi i my bt speed has been horrible this semester at college. it can only get up to 2kb per second. last semester i could get to like 30 kb per second. anyone know what could have caused all this? i went to shields up.com to and my port from 6881 to 6889 are all fine. but my download is really slow its like there is a lot of source but each source only gives me like a few hundred bytes. like i said ealier i am in a dorm so i don't know if i can access the router. i went and ask the admin and they said they haven't done anything. i don't know if i can get port forwarding to work. cause if i do wouldn't all the bt request goes to my computer? or what? i am really a noob at this? pls can soem one help me? do i need to open more port 6881 to 6889 for upd also in the window firewall??? could that be the problem causing it??? pls some one help me i am desperate. i am not asking for some fast dl speed just something like 20 to 30kb per torrent would be nice.
by the way my shararzaa is also having problems. i could connect and find a lot of source for a file but every time i download a file its like the same problem with the bt. all most of the source can only give me a few hundred bytes each. i check and see that 6346 portis open from shieldsp.com and i did the sharzaa connection test and it all said to work fine. pls can some one tell me whats wrong?
by the way i am using window xp sp 2. i tried oh sharzaa and bit torondo and they all seem to be slow. pls any help or ideas?

are you trying to download anime also juv3n1le??? thats what i been trying to do except its so slow and it will take me forever. are you on campus also???

well i jus switched internet from sympatico to rogers... while i had sympatico i was downloading naruto 1-152 and it was goin 20/kbs which i thot wasn bad beacuse my sympatico had a bad connection but now with rogers i unno maybe sumthin happend its goin 2kbs but im downloading a gam & a movie.. jus tryin to specific every time

man i wish i could give u my naruto i have 1 to 135 or something. i got it from a fd and then i only saw the first episode and i didn't like it so i stopped watching it. i ma trying to get rozen madiden season 2 download and well i gaved up after several attempts.
i am using cable in a college dorm so maybe that was my problem but the thing is
it was working last semester here and i got to 30 kb or 40 even once

i herd if u put ur ip adress it bt you can get downloads up to 100/kb. if you wan't to find your ip go to www.whatismyip.com

what do you mean put ur ip address at bt??? and i know my own ip address i can find it just by going to network connections.
by the way what did you mean what you say you could download at 116kb per second?
you mean like just the regular download?
with my regular download one time i used flashget and i got to like 1.2 mb per second.
i download a 1.5 gb game in 1 hours but that didn't end well and that caused hard ware errors.
i can get pretty fast regular download even if i don't use flashget. mayb like 500 to 800 kb if the site i am downloading from is fast.
if only i could download anime from some site like that

how do you put ur ip address in bt dl????
i been using sharzaa to download my bt and when it didn't work i tried bit comet but that doesn't seem to work so well either.
there was one page in this forum where one guy posted that he had like 2 firewall and no portforwarding and he didn't open any ports and he could get like really good download speed. he says its all inthe configrrations. man i wish i could do that.
by the way do you know anything about dsl? do they go through the phone line? do they need speical phone line for that or something?

hi i found out my port 6969 is blocked but port 6881 to 6889 are all fine.
i am having problem connecting to trackers on some torrents and the rest that i can connect gives me really slow download speed.
i mean i have a lot of source but each source only gives me a few hundred bytes. could the download speed be slow if port 6969 is blocked??? its very strange i still can get a lot of source on some torrents but on some it says can not communicate with tracker.
i have installed the patch that fix the limit of the tci ip connection but it doens't seem to help.
anyway know a way to get around port 6969 if its blocked? also to increase bt speed? cause i am getting 2kb and thats about it. even with a lot of source
i have heard of someone saying something about http tunneling
i wonder if that would work??
by the way i went to a site and found out i am not behind a nat but i think i am behind a router. i am in a college dorm you see
by the way some one above mentioned if you put ur ip address at bt you can get really fast download
does anyone know how to do that?? i don't mind putting my ip address here
