Need help with External benq burner

Hi,
After defragmentation, checking the PORT is USD2.0 and nothing running in the background my benq external burner still need 1.5hrs to finish copying and burning process.

My sys spec is 120Gb harddisk P4 400MHZ 1 GIB ram memory and I am using dvd shrink, clonedvd2 and anydvd and nero66018.

Whether I am burning at 4x or 8x or even 12x, my external burner takes roughly 1.5hrs to finish the copying and burning process.

I am using the latest benq DD EW164B external burner.

When I am using internal benq 1620pro/1620, it takes only 20-25mins to finish everything.

I am a little bit confuse here. Why is the external burner takes longer hours than the internal burner.

My benq dd ew164b has the latest firmware.

Is there anything that I miss out?

Can any kind souls kind enough to advise me what have I went wrong here.?

I really need some expert advice on this matter.

I will be very grateful for this.
