OK there are a million-and-one factors involved in determining your BitTorrent download speed.

---------------------
Here a some questions you should be asking;

1. Have I configured Port Forwarding on your router?
2. Have I configured any firewalls that are in use?
3. Have I configured you BitTorrent client properly? (Things to look at are Upload Speed and the Port Number you are using, Upload Speed is most likey the problem here.)
4. Are there many Seeder and Leechers for the torrent(s) you are downloading? Are there too many leechers to Seeders?

---------------------
Possible solutions

1. There are tonnes of Port Forwarding guides available, so I won't delve into it.

2. Windows Firewall is a common culprit - again, there are plenty of guides available.

3. First port number, make sure that the port number you are using in the bittorrent client is the one you are using when configuring your router and firewall. This is a very common mistake ;-)

Secondly, upload speed, I believe this could be your problem right here. You should never upload at the "unlimited" speed setting - you want to set the upload speed to around 80% of the maximum upload speed of your internet conenction - when you find your upload speed, please take care not to mistake kilobits(kb) for kilobytes(kB or KB) and vice versa.

4. Not much you can do here, except find a more seeded version of your torrent(s).

-----------------------
Finally, your ISP could be throttling P2P traffic - I've read things about header masking, but I believe that only work on eMule.

Perhaps you might want to call up your ISP or research your ISP to see if this is the case.

As a side note, I do not believe living in England would pose as a barrier - I myself live in Australia :D

You know that rare phenonomon when after hours and hours and hours of troubleshooting, things just just magically work and you have no idea why? Just gotta love it! ;-)

Ok ive already opened all my ports and configured my firewall settings. I have configured my Bittorent settings and everyhting is fine, the little green man is smiling happily just it only downloads at 30KB/S. There are plenty of seeders and leechers for the torrent. I just dont know what is wrong :-(
