I am using windows XP, i have disabled windows firewall but would like to disable Router firewall. Router D-Linl DI.704P version C. Kad network says Firewall Blocked
Web Interface...Disabled. My personal Firewall through McAfee has been disabled. Can anybody steer me in the right direction. Thanks

I have that exact router, and I can tell you, there is no firewall running on it - as far as I know ;-)

I suggest you check port forwarding has been done correctly.
Also, with software firewalls, you have to ensure that when you "disable" them that it hasn't resorted to "lockdown" or another similiar state. Ensure that program has been close completely (McAfee).

Apart from that, if you have access to another computer on your network, try running eMule(i'm assuming thats what you're using, but this can apply to any p2p client) from it and see if it works.





You know that rare phenonomon when after hours and hours and hours of troubleshooting, things just just magically work and you have no idea why? Just gotta love it! ;-)

yes i am using emule, but dont know what Kad network is, just says firewall blocked. i dont know what the green atlas or circle on the bottom means but theres a yellow arrow, does mean i dont have full connection,

Another question if you dont mind, i was downloading a movie and i accidently kicked out my power supply and the computer turned off, when i restarted it the movie download was gone and it was about 60% downloaded . Is there any way i can recover this

hmm, I doubt it, when a single file is being written to and power cuts out - thats usally pretty bad. You could try some saught of file recovery tool.

Probably save yourself the time and effort and re-download (i know, this is waste TIME and BANDWIDTH, but hey, at least you know you'll have results at the end).
