I Had posted a thread about the fact that ever since I installed Nero7 I cant burn a good copy. I fixed the aspi problem but the log on nero still shows that it may not be. I decrypt with dvd decrypter commpress with Shrink and burn with DVD decrypter. The movie burns but skips really bad. My drivers are up to date and firmware also.
I burn with a Sony dru-530a or Liteon sohw 1633s at a speed of 4x. Using maxell media.
When nero7 was installed I could not burn at all and now that I have fixed that I can most of the time complete a burn but a bad one. Where the skips were on the dvd I went and checked the vob file there was no problems. That tells me it is the burn. I tried with all my burning software Dvd Decrypter, Nero, Dvd
dfab. And all have the same problem. My last log is before the aspi fix So see if you see anything else wrong.
I have been burning fine for a long time and everything changed when I installed Nero7. I hope I dont have to reformatt. I need an alternative.

CdRomPeripheral : Generic DVD-ROM 1.0 gxc122p Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Your DMA is off, here is a fix written by Alkohol:

((To enable DMA back ON by "uninstalling" it's driver ?for Win XP users?))

A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER", left click on "PROPERTIES"
B) left click on "HARDWARE", left click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
C) left click on + sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives
D) double left click on your DVD burner or your dvd-rom drive
E) left click on "DRIVER", left click on "UNINSTALL", you will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system", just click "OK", now "SHUTDOWN" or "restart" your computer
F) once you restart your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner?s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!!

NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "uninstall" it from the ?IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers?

(A) left click on + sign of "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers"
(B) double left click on either Secondary or Primary IDE Channel (burner's driver are usually "Secondary Channel")
(C) click on "DRIVER", "UNINSTALL", "OK" and then "shutdown" or "restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!!
***NOTE: you have to know where your "DVD Burner" or "DVD-ROM drive" is installed to what Channel). Usually it's the "Secondary IDE Channel" because your "C: drive or Hard Drive" would be the main aka Primary IDE Channel already. If you're not sure, then you need to check it with "Nero Toolkit" first before you "uninstall" any of them. Once you verify with Nero Toolkit, then you can continue with the above steps.

You have Nero's INCD installed, it's this awful packet writing thing that Nero has. Go 'DL' Nero's cleantool to completly uninstall Nero from your system. Then reinstall but this time don't install INCD.

well The generic dvdrom drive does not exist. It is a virtual drive and I cant get rid of it. Next incd is uninstalled that is an old log file cause the other one had a bad formatt. Question, is it ok that both my dvd drives are sharing port 1 or does that cause a conflict.
