Have you made sure that you have the Drivers Installed properly (There are No Yellow Question marks in your "Device manager")??

Also have you selected the Correct Source Input in your Capture Softwares Device settings?? meaning ifd you are Trying to record from the TV Tuner you have to select "TV Tuner" in the Device settings of your Capture Software, or if you are Recording from the RCA?Composite Input or S-Video input you have to select that Input in your Capture Software....You also have to do the same with the audio, so if you are Captureing the audio from the "Line In" port on your Sound Card you have to select "Line in" in the Audio device settings in your Capture Software.....

Cheers

Minion,
that kind of advice is what these fora are all about: the dimwits being enlightened by the knowledgeable ones: thank you ever so much.

In response, I think I am alright on the points raised in the second paragraph. However, the more fundamentals do appear awry! Looking at the device amager, I have yellow questions over: RAID controller and 'unknown device'. I have install all the drivers I think.....it did it automatically, and have installed and removed twice now....What could i do next?

best wishes

Thanks for reading my posts, after some digging around i think this is my problem: I bought this tv card (gdamei pt 300) but it doesn't like running with WinXP SP2, does anyone have SP2 drivers for this card or know where I can get them. I tried the manufacturers web site, and the obvious searches, but no joy. Anyone's advise will be appreciated.

Well if the Drivers are properly Installed then it would be Listed in your device manager and have no Question marks next to it....

It could very well be that the drivers aren"t SP-2 compatible...

Do you know what type of Decoder Chip the card uses?? It should say right on the Card"s biggest chip ,It might say something like "Connexant" or "Brooktree" and have a Model number under it, If you can post the Chip Type and Model number there might be a Posibility of Finding alternate drivers for the Card Failing that I might suggest that you return the card for a refund and Get a Different one as the "Gadmei" name is not a very popular one in the Capture card market.....

Cheers

Thanks for this: I will try as described.

If this doesnt work, what would you recommend for price and good compatibility (i.e. xp sp 2). Do any cards have a scart input?

please note I am based in england, uk (ie PAL)

thanks again.

Well I do not know of any Cards with a Scart connection then again I have never seen a scart connection or even really know what one is as they don"t have them over here in canada and when I lived in europe I was to young to remember Scart Connections...

But I"m sure you can Just use some Sort of Adapter to connect from the Scart Connections to the Connections on the Capture card.....

The "Hauppaggue WinTV PVR-150/250" cards are highly recomended and use hardware Compression so it doesn"t Strain your CPU while captureing, These Cards are generally under $100.....

Hi there,

I have purchased a Gadmei PCI TV Capture and i also have Composite Camcorder. I can get Video no problem at all, but my camcorder has a jack that splits into Video and also Audio... How can i get Audio thru the Line In if possible?

My TV setting works OK with sound from the Audio In to Audio Out on Sound Card.

Please help...

It is Simple , You need to take the audio Out from your Camcorder and Connect it to the Line in on your Sound Card...You will probably need an adapter of some Sort which you can Find at any electronics store....The Same Audio Connection you connect to your TV set is the Same one that will connect to your Line in with the adapter....
