Few Overnet connections

I remember being able to get over a hundred connections on Overnet. Now I am maxing out at about 15-25 connections. It has obviously affected performance adversely.

I looked at the guide here but I couldn't see anything that would solve my problems. My max connections is set to 800.

The status of my connection is "Reachable", and there are no obvious error messages. Could there be something else preventing me from gaining more connections?

I am using eDonkey2000 but I experience similar problems on Overnet 0.5x.

I forgot to mention that I am accessing the internet through Internet Connection Sharing on Windows XP SP2. I have opened the port that I specified in eDonkey on my server.
