My laptop after beeing on for awhile seems to just freeze. Also kind of weird but, if i was to put pressure on top of the laptop where the harddrive is underneath. it freezes, then when i take the pressure off, it unfreezes..very strange. Also if i tilt my laptop toward me, it does the same. Something isnt right.

Its a New harddrive and windows xp pro freshly installed.

Most probably it is overheating. Please check that. Laptops due to their design have that problem.

Good question....unfortunately you cant. The only stuff you can try is...taking is to a colder environment and testing it...if there is no problem then, it is a heating problem, or else you can try turning it back on instantly it turns off..so as to not allow it to cool. For better results give your Laptop a 100% load, the CPU usage that is and if it shuts down after some time it is a sure shot heating problem

Try going into your BIOS. The CPU temprature might be displayed there. Hope you got an Award Bios...they are the best for tweaking and are really informative.
