Hey, guys. I'm planning on purchasing a Graphic Card. Can someone please explain to me the "memory interface"? I've been looking at GPU specifications, and I don't understand the memory interface, which is usually 256-bit.

What you really need to know is what kind of SLOT is available on your motherboard for a graphics card, AGP or PCIE that will determine your graphics card upgrade unless you plan on getting a new motherboard.

DFI LanParty nF4 SLI mobo
eVGA 256mb GeForce 7800GT
OCZ PowerStream SLI 520Watts
AMD Athlon 64X2 3800+ 2500MHz (250x10)
1GB Patriot DDR600 (PC4800) mem

Thanks, man. So basically the memory interface doesn't effect the slot the graphic is suppose to slide into? But, could someone still give me an explanation of what it means?

basically, for the same slot (use AGP 8x for example), a card with a 256-bit memory interface will have better performance than a similar card with 128-bit memory interface (able to access larger chunks of memory at a time). The slot determines the physical fit into your motherboard.

Athlon64 San Diego core 3700+, ASUS A8N-E, Sapphire X1900XT, 320GB WD SATAII HD, 2GB Gskill mem. Win XP Pro SP2. Pioneer DVR111D. Nero 6.6.1.4, DVD decrypter 3.5.4.0. ,PS2 V7 w/no-solder and swap magic
